SO SORRY TO HEAR THIS!!! I made sure that I sought out recommenders who (1) completed the same program to which I was applying (when possible), (2) consistently made it clear to me that they thought I was a "cut above the rest," (3) were receptive to me providing them with a "cheat sheet" of my accomplishments and things that I felt they should include in their reference letter, and (4) that I had known for quite some time, or who served as the instructor for more than 2 graduate-level courses I've taken.....

Hello A_Murray and emmajane. I was accepted to the PhD program in Higher Education at Penn State (the best in the country, according to US News and World Report), and anticipate matriculating in Fall 2011...Congrats to you two an your acceptances!!! I haven't heard about funding as of yet. Provided that I get a decent funding package, I will definitely be attending Penn State. :-) "WE ARE.............PENN STATE!!!!!"

I was recently accepted to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at The Pennsylvania State University. I am single, in my early 20s, and I'm thinking of living on campus in the graduate housing. Has anyone here lived (or does anyone here currently live) in Penn State Graduate Housing?...Any information will be much appreciated. I'm waiting to hear about funding. Assuming that I am at least partially funded, I definitely plan on becoming a "PENN STATER." I've been listening to "The Penn State Blue Band" musical selections everyday (The Nittany Lion, Penn State Alma Mater, etc.)...LOL...I'm quite excited, as Penn State was my first choice (and also happens to be number 1 in my field, though my reason for applying had to do with the faculty of the program to which I applied)... Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. GO NITTANY LIONS!!! WE ARE.........................PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!
