From what I've heard, a lot of grad schools are hesitant to admit one of their former undergrads - not sure why.

For one school I'm considering it's around $250 per quarter in "local fees" - which covers access to the recreation center, etc. The other school covers all my fees.

I was rejected and was not asked to apply for the MA program, but I already have an MA in Political Science.

We haven't heard anything from NYU in a few weeks, should we assume they are also done?

I received that email too and I didn't even apply to Columbia - so there you go.

Accepted into UC Irvine. Received a phone call from the DGA. Full funding for 5 years (tuition + stipend for TAship). Says he will be emailing those he was not able to reach by phone. First acceptance - yay!

Just received the Emory rejection email. No biggie - only applied because I currently live in Atlanta.......

I agree. When I lived in LA I paid over $1800/month in rent. Plus, unlike other big cities, like San Fran, it's nearly impossible to get around without a car.

I'm at work and can't call (since my boss doesn't know I'll be quitting this summer to go to grad school)........but would love it if someone else would call NYU to see if they're admitting in waves........

Another theorist here. I haven't heard from anybody yet.
