  1. yes, but i don't want to make anyone mad. i'll be spending 4-6 years there. i'm worried that this might be indicative of how the school run things. i called another school today and asked if they could tell me what my status was because my school wanted an answer, and they told me that that was "against the rules" for a school to do that - that schools have agreed that they will give applicants until whatever date - i forgot what date he said. if so, is this indicative of how things are run there and also how i might be treated as a student? is this a red flag?
  2. i'm fully funded. i am waiting on two other schools i would really like to go to. it's my top choice of the schools i've been accepted to so far is what i wrote.
  3. supposedly we have until march/april to make a decision. i received a friendly note from the admissions office that i should really let them know either way as soon as possible. the note was friendly, but the undertone was TELL US NOW. this is a great school and i am concerned that i am receiving this kind of pressure. any comments? so far, of the schools i've been accepted to (just got a few accepts today- i hadn't realized it because my email server was having problems) this school that is "asking me politely" to make a decision is my top choice. do i take it or what should i do?
  4. do you by chance know if mit is committed to diversity - as in different backgrounds? maybe someone who's worked in business before or someone who can speak like six languages, someone who used to own a business, have a cool hobby, etc? lots of ivy leagues are into that, but i'm not sure that mit would be (yes, i know mit is not an ivy league).
  5. It seems like NO ONE gets accepted into MIT. I want some stats of people accepted into MIT - I can't seem to find any anywhere. Anyone? Also, seems that Stanford and other schools are cutting back on acceptance. I can't see hardly anyone accepted to Yale. Comments?
  6. please keep it to yourself. i made the mistake to tell people and now people are treating me different and also, there is one guy i don't trust and i realized he is a very jealous person and i should have... well, just kept my mouth shut!!! trust me. don't worry, you can spill the beans where you are safely there.
  7. i haven't heard either. the good news is that some people got multiple accepts and can't go everywhere. we still have a chance, even if we weren't early picks. who CARES? in is in. in my opinion, silence at this point is better than a reject letter. i'm sitting here optimistically. i've gotten into one great program, so the rest is just icing ont he cake.
