  1. Last update regarding the Toronto CS admission process for those who are still waiting. I sent them a polite email last weekend asking when do they expect to be done with sending all the decisions. Although I didn't expect for the reply too much, they did answer me yeterday. They wrote: "We are currently issuing decisions as of last week via email and posted mail. You should receive an reply soon. We thank you for your patience" So, with a little more patience all of us will have thier decisions soon... Good luck to everyone!!!
  2. I've just saw new results (acceptances) from McGill posted on results board. Did this faculty adcomm finally wake up?
  3. Where can one having a B.A. in Social work (gerontology specialization) study retirement homes management in Canada? In my country there are such non-degree programs at universities, which are aimed for experienced social workers or nurses and usually last 2 years part time. Any pointers for such (or similar) program in Canada? Or probably there are other requirements? Would appreciate any information.
  4. The same for me Does anyone know if there is a family housing option for graduate students (with a child)? I looked on thier site and they said there is no such option, but probably I missed something... Do they have something like children care center? Any other usefull information for married+ graduate student?
  5. I understand that if professor agreed to give me some money, GPS cannot change this particular point. My question, is whether GPS can still add something to the offer? I mean like tuitition waiver, for example... Or ALL financial decisions are made by faculty, and GPS can only approve them? Can I try to negotiate the financial package after I get an offer from GPS, or is it final at that point? I know some people succeeded to improve thier offer, but should it be done immediately after the letter from departement?
  6. So, I've got my first acceptance. In fact, I only recieved a letter from a departement saying that it recommeded me to the GPS. As far as I understand, however, I can consider this as an acceptance (I hope!!!). Now I have a question regarding the funding. In the email they said "Should GPS approve your admission the official acceptance letter and admission package will be sent to you in the next few weeks. " On the other hand, there is an information in the attached file regarding the financial support (some ammount was granted to me by the professor). I wonder if this financial support information is final, or GPS can change it? Should I try to negotiate this now, or should I wait for the final letter? Any advises are welcome.
  7. After waiting for more than a month, I've finally got the acceptance letter yersterday (YES!!!) I suppose they are in progress of sending their acceptances, and more of them will be sent in coming days. Good luck to anyone who is still waiting!!!
  8. Congratulations!!! I wish all of us to hear good news soon.
  9. Trully, I have no idea whether they have it or not, but I just trying to find reasonable explanation why I don't here from them. Regarding my applications there are several reasons. I am not Canadian yet, and I have discovered this forum too late during my application. I didn't really know where to apply to, since I have never heard of any Canadian university and of couse had no idea of thier reputation. I applyied to 2 that according to my googling seemed to be OK. I was also considering to apply to Queen's university, but then changed my mind mainly because it is located in a relatively small town... If I won't get in this year, I will probably try next year other universities... I still have hope for this year, however...
  10. Don't be so pessimistic. I believe it's not final unless it's really final. It might be a wait list decision, which is not sent, or something like this. We just need to wait another couples of days, though it's so difficult...
  11. I don't have any decisions either. My deadlines were 8 Dec , 1 Jan and 15 Jan. One of the schools started to send thier decisions in Jan (both acceptances and rejections), and yersterday sent tons of rejections. Another school sent only a single rejection on 1 March. Third school started to send acceptances this week. I got frustrated!!!
  12. New acceptances appeared on the board, but I still have nothing. Could anyone who already has his decision share his process? Did you have interview? When? The wait is killing me.
  13. OMG, tons of rejections appeared on the resutls board since yesterday. Is anyone still waiting or everyone already has the decision? I am still waiting, and the feeling is really frustrating. I have at least the weekend unitil my decision comes.... Why do they skip me???
  14. There are 2 results on the board: 1. Informal acceptance by a professor on 9 Feb. 2. Formal acceptance on 8 March I believe these are 2 persons, right? I wonder if the person who reported the first acceptance already has it formally (and if yes, for how long). I wonder also if the person who reported the second acceptance had an interview (and if yes, when). I ask, since I had a phone conversation with a professor I wish to work with (interview) almost before a month. But since then I heard nothing!!!
  15. OneNote - a single place where you can gather all of your notes and information. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenote/ Very recommended!!!
