  1. I emailed Notre Dame on Monday, and actually got a response today. It was a very nice email telling me that I was still in the running. Apparently, they're doing admissions and rejections on a rolling basis. They've sent out some offers, and a lot of rejections. There are only a few spots left, though, so I don't fancy my chances. Still, it's nice to know I made it this far in the process.
  2. Not that I'm terribly optimistic about it, but has anybody been in touch with Notre Dame? I've emailed them (yeah, I know, not much hope of a response there), but no reply.
  3. Any word on Notre Dame? No idea if they're done sending out admissions yet. Admissions and rejections have trickled in over weeks now.
  4. Aaaand there's the GWU rejection. Just got the email.
  5. I know how you feel. I'm 0-3 so far (with Columbia and GWU most likely making it 0-5). That only leaves Notre Dame, but I'm not holding my breath for that one. I'm so glad I got offered an RA position this week, so I'll have something to keep me busy until the next round of applications. But I have no idea what I'm gonna do next year. This looks to be the second year in a row I strike out completely with applications.
  6. Yeah, BU is terrible for funding, especially Political Science. I got my Master's in IR there, and that department actually has a lot of graduate assistantships. Not much pay, but it cuts the tuition roughly in half per semester you do it. But my friend who's doing is Ph.D. in Political Science there has had to work his butt off to get funding. Often times you'll have you TA or something from the get-go.
  7. Just got rejected by University of Chicago (Ph.D. with IR subfield) via email. So I'm 0-3 (with Columbia likely making it 0-4). Still waiting on GWU and Notre Dame. Any word on ND? I know they've sent out some admission offers, but not sure if they're done.
  8. Ph.D. in Political Science with IR concentration. Same as me.
  9. A month? I'm not sure I can wait that long without losing my mind. As for my friend, I'm not sure if the schools are sending out rejections in stages.
  10. Sorry for jumping in, but just registered. Any word about Chicago or GWU (IR)? A friend of mine got rejection from Chicago a week and a half ago and rejection from GWU four days ago, but I haven't heard anything. Also, have Notre Dame sent out offers of admissions to all subfield? FYI, I got rejected by MIT and the LBJ school at UT Austin last week. Now waiting for word from the schools above and Columbia.
  11. I've applied to Ph.D. programs at six different schools, most of them top schools in my field so I'm not terribly optimistic, and I got the first two rejections last week. So naturally I am obsessing about the remaining four. A friend of mine has applied to some of the same programs as me, but he has already been rejected by two of them while I've not heard anything. The first school sent him a rejection over a week ago, while the second sent him the rejection four days ago. Does this mean anything for my chances? Do schools usually send out rejections in stages? FYI, he lives in the U.S. while I live in Europe, but that shouldn't really matter since rejections are sent out via email.
