  1. Thanks for the info! I checked the site like you said, and it was good news!
  2. I have a friend who's an SLP in Missoula and a friend who's doing her post-bacc at UM... The SLP told me that the UM grad students she's had with her in clinic have been terribly unprepared and frustrated when they do their clinic hours (because the program doesn't prepare them well). The friend in the post-bacc has done multiple clinic observation hours with SLPs around Montana and one of them said she was great, they loved her, and they would LOVE to hire her "as long as she didn't go to UM for grad school." (Because they have had such bad experience with UM SLP masters grads being so ill-prepared). I love Missoula and would love to go to school there, but when I heard this, I figured the program needs a few more years to get up to par. I don't mean to tell you what to do OR say bad things about a school that's trying hard to get their program off the ground... but if you have other options, they might be better for you... All that said, you know what's best for you. I just wanted to give you the info I had access to. Also, since you're in Missoula now, you might have a WAY better idea of how things are...
  3. Is UM your top choice? I'm from Missoula originally and was considering their program but didn't apply for various reasons. Are you wanting to stay or go somewhere new?
  4. Pretty much all my schools had a Feb 1st deadline, too, and I've only heard from one (of six). I think most of the people who are hearing back right now are the ones who applied to schools with December or early January deadlines. I know it doesn't help to say this, but I think we'll just have to wait a while longer. (Especially those of us who applied to Portland State!) Congratulations! That's totally awesome. Go get a drink or some ice cream or something to celebrate.
  5. I'm applying only to west coast schools (UW, PSU, UO, SFSU, SJSU, SDSU) and almost all of them had February 1st deadlines, so I'm behind most of you in the acceptance process. I just found out I was wait-listed at UW (I applied to both the Core and Med programs). Was anyone else placed on the wait list? I'm curious as to how many people are accepted and how many are put on the wait list, because the letter made it sound like there was a good chance I might get called. Anyone have info or care to speculate? Also, did anyone else apply to University of Oregon? Since pretty much the entire application was offline, I'm assuming they're going to contact us via snail mail. Even though checking websites every 30 seconds is aggravating, NOT having a site to check is worse! Good luck to everyone and congrats to those of you who've already been accepted!
