Hola, no sé si a alguien le interese, pero yo acabo de rechazar dos ofertas, una de Brown y otra de BU... Se los digo porque sé que estas universidades van a ofrecer este lugar a alguien más... Espero que éstas sean buenas noticias para alguien aquí... Saludos

Hey! I don't know if this will be of any help, but I've just declined two offers, one from Brown and the other one from BU, for a PhD in Spanish (Hispanic Studies at Brown, Hispanic Language and Literature at BU)... Yes, NYU's definitely slower, or so it seems.

I'm waiting for a NYU decision as well... But I've been interviewed, so I guess it's not exactly the same situation. Still, I don't think contacting the department is going to make such a difference. If you're accepted, they're not going to cancel your acceptance just because of a phone call, right? Good luck!

Has anybody applied for these programs? (Anywhere?) If so, have you already received acceptances/rejections? Feeling a little lonely here... Please please please post if you know anything!

Ok, so... I'm a little bit disoriented. I've already been accepted in 3/6 PhD, and now I'm waiting, after being interviewed by an NYU Graduate Committee (via Skype), for the last result. The thing is I don't quite understand if having been interviewed means A) I've already been accepted, B ) I have a pretty good chance of being accepted, or C) I have the same chance of being rejected. The Committee calls me "finalist" via email, but I'd like to know if I'm waiting for a "yes or no" email or if I'm already (and totally) accepted and just have to wait for a financial offer... Please, can somebody help me??
