  1. Of course you should email them and let them know your decision; the only justifiable reason to hold off until April would be if you are wavering. Think of your peers who are potentially in waitlist purgatory and would love to be offered the spot you are wont to give up. Once you have made your decision, for the love of Thor, inform your schools!!
  2. I got the email rejection yesterday as well. You know, for the inordinate amount of time they were sitting on those rejections, the terse rejction was galling. I mean, all I am asking is that you address the email to my NAME...
  3. So, I know that Notre Dame already made it's first round picks, as per, the the Results Board. But it is so late in the game, and I have not heard anything. I don't want to believe that a school would wait so painfully long to send out rejection letters. Then again what I want reality to be is not in sync with actual reality. Am I right to think they are just compiling wait-lists and rejections? The thought of going through this whole process again...sucks (the most apt description I can muster up right now).
  4. I feel that way too. Why can't they just shoot me a rejection notice? I hate knowing that knowing that rejection is imminent. They already cocked the gun...pull the trigger already!! I am already toeing the line. Just pull on the blind fold, give me my last cigarette, and pull the trigger.
  5. I received an official acceptance at Penn States MA English program, more information is to follow. I think generally, and especially this year, decisions on MA programs won't be made until later, Good luck!
  6. I just received the very same email. I hope that it means that we are in....here is to crossing our fingers. (And it is the best news I have heard in a while)
  7. Yeah, I have had a similar experience. My professors were all baffled as to why I would decide to apply to nine schools, which is, the the grand scheme of things, not a big number. They were sure that I would be a shoe-in and needed not to apply to so many. Well, as many of us can attest, this year has turned out less than rosey. I have had three outright rejections so far, two other schools emailed me and are considering me for a MA in lieu of the PhD, I am more than sure I am implicitly rejected from three of the six schools I applied to. So yeah...less than rosey.
  8. I will pick up jazz flute and join a Jethro Tull cover band...
  9. I have also evolved to this point. And if anyone else tells me to "think positively" with a knowing smile on their face...AHHHH!!!
  10. I am just waiting for those three magical words that every girl of my ilk longs to hear.."You are accepted."
  11. My Dear Universities, Why do you want to break up with me so soon? I know that long distance relationships are tough, but you just have to say the word and I would come running. Think of all the things that I have done for you. Those tests that you set up for me, I did them for you. I whispered sweet nothings in your ear via the poetry of my SOP, not to mention unleashed a torrent of veritable academic craft, just to give you a "sample" of things to come. I tried to love you all equally, though, you, I might have elevated above the rest (perhaps it was because you played the most hard-to-get). I know that some of you have been talking to other suiters, but I will not hold that against you. However, the continued silent treatment is wearing upon my psyche. I keep waiting by the phone hoping that you will call. All in vain. If you want to break up, I will accept it (grudgingly), but this continual silence...it's just not working for me anymore. Languishing, BD
  12. And rejected. My decision status was changed painfully early this morning. So three down and six to go. My hope is eroding at an exponential rate.
  13. I am waiting too, I do want to hear from them but, then again, I don't--so far I have only received news that I don't really want to hear. I have no idea what the admissions process is there, nevertheless it appears like they have rolling admissions. Last week there seemed to be a modest wave of rejections along with a splash of acceptances. But I have heard nary a peep since then.
  14. So far this morning I have been checking my status on the UCLA website obsessively...no news...hopefully that is good news. I hope that they don't do the alphhabetized rejection thing. Also, anyone hear anything from UPENN?
