This is my third time applying to the same creative writing and literature ph.d program. After the first two rejections, I contacted the graduate coordinator who let me know that I was a victim of the numbers as so many applied and only so many are accepted. They encouraged me to apply again as they also mentioned that not everyone gets accepted on their first try.
In the past, the acceptances were made known via phone call or email while the rejections were sent out via mail. As I have yet to hear anything, I did see a post on the results page here, that someone received a call of acceptance at the end of February, I can only assume that the third time is not a charm in my case. In my lack of patience, I emailed my person of interest who I know is extremely busy and a very high profiled person. I have yet to hear back, Was that not the right thing to do?
