Hello fellow Norway applicants. I have not heard from Fulbright today either...so I guess we are all on the same boat right now... Hopefully they sent out more notifications today. I was thinking about why they split up the notifications. I think maybe they sent out the notifications for the ETA's + two arts awards last week and maybe they were holding out on sending the normal full grants until they had confirmations for them....just a theory. Anyways, stay tough this weekend and hopefully we all hear some good news next week

I have not heard back from Fulbright for Norway today either....

I called my sister to see if I'd gotten any mail today, she said that I got a medium sized manila envelope from Olso. The first thing I thought was, oi, I'm either rejected or an alternate. It turns out it was acceptance letter for the Oslo International Summer School which I already knew I'd gotten. I felt a mixture of relief and disappointment.....ahhh No email today either

I think they are sending out the emails as they received notification from 1) the country, 2) FSB and 3) the State Department. I heard that they need approval from these three different places and that is why some people may hear back quicker than others. I'm not sure how I should feel about not receiving an email because when I look at the spreadsheet from last year, there are examples where some people who applied to the same country receive acceptance notification through email while some from letters. (one that stands out is Switzerland ) Did Rachel specify whether there were still acceptance letters to be sent or are all the remaining letters supposed to be rejection/alternates? Stay tough!!

I didn't get an email either... Now I wish I hadn't said earlier in the thread that they would send email notifications, because when you don't get one when you know now to expect one, it just makes you feel like you didn't get the grant. AHH... Are there any other Norway applicants out there who want to report their status??

I haven't received anything either. Although I am further from NY than you are.... It is just so disappointing how they are coming out so much later this year.

YES!!! I am so excited!! I live in WA so I will probably be the last to receive my letter.... but still, I'm so glad they aren't sending them out next week.

I applied for an ASF to Norway, but I got the letter two days ago stating I didn't get it Hopefully that is not the case for Fulbright.

I have been on pins and needles since March 17th since I saw that was when the letters were sent out last year. I wonder if the lag this year is because they were busy hosting the ski championships? Regardless, I wish since the letters are coming later this year they would send it electronically.....

Has anyone applying to Norway heard back yet? According to the spreadsheet last year, this would be about the time to hear back.

According to the 2009-2010 Fulbright forum, it looks like you can expect it the last week of March or the 1st week of April. Someone wrote on April 21, 2009: I hope that helps. ~Esther

The calm before the storm...I definitely know what you mean. I feel like this weekend was pretty slow and quiet on the forum, but this coming week things are going pick up pace pretty quick.

Umm....you might want to read the whole article... She is not a candidate for 2011-2012 It says she was accepted last April, she leaves in the upcoming weeks, and she will only be there until October....
