  1. Oh wow thats awesome! Congratulations! I hope you are liking the program. Do you mind if I message you about the personal statement? Thanks so much!!!!
  2. Hi there, I am planning to apply to uoft for hpme. you applied already? Thanks!
  3. Phew! Thank you. Did you also apply to health promotion?
  4. HI everyone! Its really great to hear everyones comments and perspectives on the different schools. Sadly I didnt apply to SFU and UBC. But I did apply to USask and I am accepted there and Waterloo. My only dilemma is that waterloo is online and I dont think anyone here applied to Waterloo. At the time of applying I thought online was a good option because you can work and start your career early and study at your own pace. But when I talked to professors and TAs and other people, I get mixed messages about studying online or going the traditional way. I have until monday to accept/decline. Also, I applied to USask..but the only thing is distance. Ideally I would like to go to UofT for health promotion, but they dont let you know until end of april and chances of getting in are low anyway. Any thoughts? Or anyone in the same boat? Thanks!
  5. If only we knew whether health promotion is out or not?
  6. How did you determine that you were waitlisted? Did you get an email? I applied for health promotion and haven't heard anything yet. Also -- look at the courses in each stream--you will get a feel of what they prepare you for.
  7. I am accepted to Usask as well but not sure if i am going to accept it..only because of distance, which is sad, because its a good program.
  8. I think you should look in to the courses, tuition, accommodation and maybe find facebook groups to chat with people about the programs. I personally would have selected uoft if given the opportunity. But I didnt apply to epi.. I applied to health promotion. When do you have to decide by? Did you accept any of them?
  9. Thank you so much for the info. Was this for epi or health promotion? Thanks.
  10. I am sorry! I wish I could help, I actually regret not applying to that school. But Queens sometimes has their students pics and names...so maybe you can find them on facebook...kinda promoting stalking here but with good intentions lol. Also, you should email faculty and the program assistant or coordinator. Be honest and ask you questions. Thats a really tough decision. I am sorta in the same boat..although I havent heard from other schools..I am really confused about the option I have right now..which is Waterloo (MPH). I really dont know if I should go ahead with it...I hear mixed advices. Does anyone know anything about the school, program and the online format?
  11. Congratulations! Its great that you heard from UofT..last year my friend found out all the way in May. Did you hear via email or website status change? So I have a question..did you accept Guelph? What happens if you accept one and then you find out about another offer and might want to accept that? Is there a penalty or fine?
  12. Hello, I am accepted to an online MPH program at Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. And I am also really confused...only two visits required at the beginning and end of the program...but I am still wondering if the online program is really for me. Any positive experience that can come out of this? Still waiting on other programs...very long wait.
  13. Hey! So I just visited the UofT website and I am going to biased, but I really think you should with UofT..the opportunities sound great. You are set . Course topics will be great in both places..try to compare the opportunities that may come out of each of them for you. And they accept only 10 people, so you should be very proud of yourself . You can also just drop by the campus and talk to the professors..email them and meet with them, if you are in toronto. Or even with queens..I know how you feel, I am trying to inquire about waterloo, but not really sure who to talk to. I got accepted there but because its online I am really worried about that, because I like interactions. And who knows if I will get into the UofT (doubt it lol), they are really late in letting people know for the health promotion program. You are lucky you have time to decide. Good luck researching and hopefully picking the best route. Congrats!!!
  14. Are those the only schools you applied to? I would go with UofT...more known. however, Queens is also a good school. Check out their facebook page to to talk to the people in the program. Also..look at work opportunities for each as well. I think Queens offers two practicums? And finally..check out the tuition fees, UofT is always too expensive, but I would check that. You have to do a lot of research into both school. Did you get into both of them?
  15. Hey! Thanks for your reply! Any luck on the getting the package? Its weird I got an offer from saskatchewan and they said they would send a letter, but I havent received amything yet (from two weeks ago). I also got in Waterloo and the sent the letter immediately. I have no idea what was the cutoff for Guelph, but I know they had very limited spots. I am not even sure where I am on the waitllist and that if they even rank the people... My gpa was 3.68, overall not so great. But I have over 3 years of experience in part time jobs in research etc. So they might have taken that in consideration. The program is new so I am not sure about its connections. I might accept Waterloo--but I dont know anyone else going there..and the online option is kinda my fear. If you can kindly please let me know whens the deadline to accept Guelph...I can maybe know if a second round of offers will be provided. Thanks so much!
