  1. I emailed them today and got the response that they have done reviewing applications and are now in the process of sending out interviews... it sounds like they are not done sending them out yet. Anyway let us keep fingers crossed.
  2. An update on Princeton: just emailed them today, and got the note that the application process is still in progress... kind of hard to believe, but... Does anyone have any other news on the Princeton front? Thank you.
  3. Hi Naizan, thank you for the information! Definitely keep us updated with the news.
  4. I saw there are already two Princeton interviews posted on gradcafe, sort of freaked out... since I never heard any word from them since submission. Has anyone got any idea if all interviews are out or they do it case by case? Thank you!
  5. regarding the Incomplete message, I emailed the program administrator and got the reply that everything is fine, and applyyourself is showing the message because the system is set to show it by default while in fact the department committee are okay with it when they review our folders.
  6. Hi everyone, I am a Master student in Computer Science in a top 20 US school, and my undergrad is in a non-US university, with two degrees in Computer Science and Japanese. I am very interested in research areas that take computational approaches to psychology or neuroscience. I have interned and worked in research labs extensively, and it seems that my computational background did help. But I am not sure whether it can be an advantage or disadvantage when I apply to PhD programs in Psychology and CogNeuro, since I am not a canonical Psych or Neuro major. I know my background might be of some help when applying to Computational Neuroscience, but it seems only a few schools offer exactly such programs, while most universities put those labs inside a vague category. I am really concerned about the validity of my applying to PhD programs in Psy and Neuro, but research in these areas really interest me and I am sure I want a PhD in these fields. Your input is highly appreciated! All the best, iwanttobelieve
  7. Hi, all. I am really in a struggle. I got into JHU MSE in Computer science and UNC Chapel Hill Master in Information and Library Science; both without full funding. Both are good schools, but I wonder if JHU has an edge over UNC in terms of reputation and network, which might mean a better job prospect. Also, negative things about going to a Computer Science graduate program is that I am not quite interested in pure computer engineering stuffs like Architecture and Operating System, yet things like algorithms and artificial intelligence really are my dishes. The program in UNC is not Computer science, but information and library science; I see they have some very interesting courses too; also they emphasize interdisciplinary studies; besides, there are opportunities to get access to academic resources in Duke and NCSU. I am in such a dilemma and I am afraid I have to make a quick decision. So your help, opinion and any inside scoops about these two schools are more than welcome. Thank you in advance!!!
