No, and after the Eastern's this weekend I am really hoping even more that I am accepted. They said I'd be contacted soon, so I hope so, so much it is good news for me. Did you apply, and have you heard anything from the program?

What's the test if they aren't accepting us? It's borderline offensive, imo. "Can these rejects even understand that we aren't accepting them... let's see if they'll get the hint."

I don't know too much about the program, but I lived in Davis for a little while and I love it there. Be sure to go to Mishka's Cafe. Also, Davis has one of the best Peet's Coffee's, in my opinion. It's such a great town... you'll be surprised how many unpretentious intellectual peeps you'll meet there. Davis Food Co-Op---go there too. You are close enough to Berkeley and Standford to network with other sociologists.

This is basically what I need to do instead of being on this forum. Get out in the open, and just get some fresh air and think.

I feel in the same spot as DanielCharles87. I applied to several programs that others have already heard back from, and I have yet to hear anything. I'm wondering where I belong in the sea of rejection and acceptance. I guess we just have to.... wait :\

Hey Dawn--I totally know you! And UVA has been talked about by Dr. J and others as being a very divided department. I know people who stopped at their M.A. at UVA--even though they had full funding for 5 years--because they didn't like the program.

Congrats Kbirch! I haven't heard anything from BC yet... keeping my fingers crossed but I also messed up on my letter of interest and listed a professor who is emeritus status and likely does not do research with students anymore

Has anyone received a rejection from NYU yet?

Brandeis e-mailed me today--I'm waitlisted. It's my top choice, so a little nervous to say the least.

Dude, this sucks. I feel like I am not going to get in anywhere. The ONLY thing I've heard is a rejection from MIT. Silence, utter silence. Feeling frustrate and actually embarrassed.

What the hell---all I received from a student today is a formal call to action regarding birth control handed out by her Priest in church. I guess I'll count that, though.
