  1. I'm most likely going to Binghamton's Social Work School next Fall so I will help you. Many of us had group interviews (12 or so) with the director of the program and another person who serves on the advisory board. The questions asked of us are as follows: 1) Are you in school or are you working? 2) Why do you feel you are ready for Graduate School and why Binghamton specifically? 3) What is your professional experience dealing with diversity and/or oppressed populations? 4) If you find you are not up to par during the program what steps would you take to remedy this and improve your performance? 5) I forget exactly but something along the lines of what past experiences lead you to the decision to become a social worker/and or an MSW? Good luck. I found the group interview to go pretty well and the faculty members were easy to interview with. Overall the school is very receptive and it is such a new program that they seem to really cater to the students individually. I'm excited about attending Binghamton and since the social work dept is such a young program it will only get better in time. You have to think since Binghamton University is ranked high academically across the board, as more students elect to go for a more affordable Masters degree and more alums enter the field of social work (they have only been awarding MSW's for a few years in comparison to the other SUNY's) the program will grow. I like to be part of something new and am ready to represent this school well. Hope this helps, take care
