i'm not sure whether they're totally done or what. there don't seem to have been any waitlist notifications so far. my acceptance email didn't say anything about the number of students admitted, just that they enroll about 20 people per year. sorry i don't have any better info...

yup, definitely attending. looks like i'll be deciding between yale and columbia...

congrats, harvard folks! ...and assuming no news is bad news, the application cycle is over for me!

yeah, this week i've been seriously regretting all the google alerts i'm signed up for...

the only personalized element is my first name, so it seems likely a bunch could have gone out en masse. it's from the director of graduate studies and specifies that it's an informal offer (i.e. the department has recommended me for admission and once the grad school approves i'll get an official letter by fedex). oh, and it says they're aiming to enroll about 20 students...

thoughts on a better way to get a good sense of a department?

i don't know anything specific to princeton, but i do know that my yale acceptance appeared a few days after the first ones were reported on the results board. so basically, i think the take-away message is that nothing about this process works intuitively, nor can you really make any meaningful predictions based on the available information. fun, huh?

two professors have mentioned in passing that i should come to yale's admit days (which apparently are 3/24-3/25) but i haven't gotten any info from the department. did anyone receive anything official?

tortured mix of IR and comparative with some theory thrown in for good measure. my guess was that princeton's public law concentration would be the best fit for me, but who knows if they'll feel the same way...

there's an unofficial harvard acceptance up on the results board...

sure: 790Q/800V/6 on the GREs, 3.76 undergrad GPA (not in poli sci), and i've also got a law degree, for whatever that's worth (consensus seems to be either "some" or "not much") my recs are from 2 law profs and 1 poli sci prof.

i think somebody posted earlier that columbia's applications were actually down this year (which would mean at least it's not the worst year ever somewhere). i don't know if there was any confirmation of that, though...

i was sort of hoping for something more specific, like say, "tuesday at 3." ...you know, in the interests of actually getting any work done in the next few days. oh well.

care to make any predictions about any of the schools i'm waiting on??
