  1. @kathiza I have spoke with the Graduate assistant and my advisor after i accept my offer. But i think UM really have to work on their efficiency. My wire transfer was a nightmare, it delayed over a month, which i don't know exactly why. The Bank of America has already recived it. So i guess something went wrong when it reach to UM. I feel like UM is a bit cold and far away. They don't do update or notice. It's kinda worry, considering i am far far away from there. I Hope that will help!
  2. I think Miami is the right choice

  3. @ Kathiza I agree that we should keep in touch. The house price in Miami is kinda expensive. I think the best place to look at is South Miami and Coral Gables, since they are closer to the campus. I find that Red Road Commons is closer, but the price is high as well. Finding a house and roomates is a time consuming work, especially you are far across the ocean.
  4. Hi,all. Anyone looking for a roomate? I'm going to UM to study Multimedia Journalism. It's a master program, so i will be there for like 2 years or so. I am not planning to own a car, so the closer the campus the better. I would love to pay for like $500-$700 a month. Plus, i'm an international student, so i won't be able to visit the house in advance. Any suggestion on the house hunting or roomate finder ? Many thanks!
  5. I have got into U Miami M.A in Multimedia Journalism and UGA M.A in Telecomm Jouranlism. The two schools are the last two i hold up to, any advise would be really helpful ! 1.U Miami program is pretty new, the School of Comm has set up only for 25 years. (Can's really compare to some 100 years J-School ). Anyway, the program is professional, hands on, get some opportunities to travel and accomplish some great projects. But the overall cost are much higher than UGA. 2.UGA Grady seems have a greater reputation on Journalism. The program is academic, focus more on thesis and theory, which is not what i intended to learn. But the director mention a new professional program will be open next year, and i can choose the courses if i wish to. Is there anyone familiar with these two school? I know they are not such a bit name compare to Columbia, Berkely .. I'm leanning towards the U Miam, cause the program is best fit. But i'm worried about the reputation of the school and the young program. Help please~ Many thanks!
  6. Any advice will be useful to me. I got into U Miami School of Communication and UGA Grady School, both are master programs. U Miami program is about Multimedia Journalism, the program has just started for 2 years, but the Director is a promising professional from UNC.I like the program a lot. They also gave me a little stipends and a 9 credit waiver. But the overall expenses is still really high. UGA has a more traditional program, focus more on academic area, but the Director told me they would open a brand new hands on professional program next year, I can attend those classes if i want. UGA hasn't offer any scholarship to me, but the expenses still cheaper than Miami. So, this is really a money issue and some uncertainty about the both programs. Also, i'm an international student, so i'm not quite sure about the reputation of this two schools in States. Please help me with some advices. Thank you !
