Is there anyone heading to University of Maryland College Park this fall? I am an international student joining the Organizational Behavior PhD program at Smith School of Business. I am considering housing in Rockville, Silver Spring and Bethesda. Do you guys have any prior experience in these three areas? Cheers!

Hi there, Thank you for your comprehensive reply on your experience at Maryland. I have looked at the housing options you have mentioned. I am also considering staying westward from College Park. Are you familiar with Rockville? It has a rather significant mix of international residents. Of course moving farther from campus would mean getting a car. Is the daily commute bad? How congested is the traffic condition? The Smith School of Business offers a rather generous stipend so hopefully my wife and I could manage the living expenses well. Did you enjoy your graduate experience at Maryland? Cheers

I am seriously considering an offer from University of Maryland. I like that the OB faculty is ranked high on research productivity and my research interest (leadership) is aligned to the faculty's expertise. Anyone else considering Maryland?

Hi Marxophile, Thank you for the weblink. Since you are familiar with the area, I am wondering what are your recommendations for housing? I have read that security within College Park can be a concern. So most of the graduate students tend to live further away from campus. Cheers!
