  1. Hi there! What field of music is your M.M.?
  2. Got in for PhD Musicology at The University of Georgia, Athens. I am soo excited! This will be the largest school I've ever attended. I applied to like 6 schools and got accepted to two. My research will focus on Arvo Part, John Tavener, and Henryk Gorecki.
  3. Ph.D. Musicology in the Hodgson School of Music, living in Jasper County - a 45 minute commute
  4. Congrats to all accepted this season! For Bangor, I don't remember where I was but I was happy about the unconditional offer, however, no funding. For Georgia, I was stoked. The day before I received a rejection letter from our dear friends at Chapel Hill and I was seriously bummed. Then this envelope appears the next day with a red "Official acceptance" stamp and bearing a University of Georgia crest. I'm just thinking "no freaking way." I was shaking and started to hyperventilate on seeing my name, "Ph.D." and "admit" on the same page.
  5. I've got Georgia on my mind!

It feels like I've had the door slammed in my face. The only school I got into has a very high tuition rate. It's cruel for life to open the door and you can see beyond, but you can't pass through due to no funding. FML
  7. Have y'all ever seen a friend's research proposal and thought yours could never compare in terms of depth or clarity? That's how I feel. Pulling hairs!!!!
  8. Hi, I'm applying for Ph.D. in Historical Musicology. I did my undergrad in Mississippi and my masters in Wales. I remember the UNC application asking about international experience and I had surely lots to give, so here's to hoping that helps!
  9. I did. Was accepted to Bangor and rejected from King's, Indiana, and Yale Waiting on Chapel Hill and UGA
  10. I have not heard anything yet either. Fingers crossed!
