I'm a first year graduate student and I am kind of at a loss for how to go about finding conferences to submit abstracts to. Granted, all I have really done is type a few things in to google but I figured there would be a definitive list compiled somewhere and I have found no such thing. I have found a few for film but nothing for literature. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was the acceptance for next year? Someone in my program submitted a paper at the start of September and was expecting to be accepted to prevent it at next year's conference. It's not my area of study so I'm sorry I cant be of more help. Ill let you know if I hear anything else from her.

Just wondering if anyone has read anything on the graduate school/TA experience that they think would be a good primer for someone to check out before starting their program.

Anyone have any experience with this? I will be doing my first semester as a teaching assistant in my MA program this fall and while I'm thrilled with the tuition waiver, the living stipend leaves something to be desired. The position requires 20 hours per week and I'm obviously doing graduate work full time as well but I would like to get some sort of job on the weekends if possible. Do any of you supplement your TA income in any way?

Any information would be greatly appreciated as these are two schools I'm looking to apply to as well. The only difference is that I'm looking to get an MA in literary studies.
