I found out earlier that I was accepted to UCLA!!! Lance emailed me directly and stated that he will begin my paperwork on Monday. I am SOOOOO excited, but will be sad to leave my job of 9 years at a Native American boarding school. I am waiting to hear from USC but I will likely stick with UCLA. I am super interested in USC's elective course, Media in Social Work: Documentary Filmmaking, but I know I can do all that on my own. I'm a Communication Studies undergrad and have taken a couple of TV/Video Production classes and am super inspired to make documentaries from the standpoint of an LCSW. Anyhow, I wish you all the best of luck! This board has been the greatest support for me, outside of my close friends and family.

I'm in my last quarter at CSUSB (BA in Communication Studies). Although I only applied to UCLA and USC for their MSW programs, I wanted to wish you good luck!!!

Yes- that does help. I applied right before the deadline so I'm not expecting word anytime soon.

I spoke with Lance yesterday, and he said I should hear by the end of the week. My friend who is a current UCLA MSW student said she spoke with Fooks today and he said that the admissions process took longer than normal and they're not done.

Per an email from Fooks/UCLA Admissions (in reply to an email I wrote him): "I’m sure this is a stressful time trying to plan and having to wait to hear from programs you’ve applied to. I believe there will be final decisions made by Monday April 11th. I will follow up with you on Monday afternoon. I’ll make an inquiry with the admissions committee about when they will send out notices." Hope that helps...

I'm still waiting as well...I applied in January though. When did you apply?

I'm planning to concentrate in Mental Health! I applied to UCLA and USC's MSW programs for this fall. I am still awaiting decisions. Good luck!

I submitted both of my applications to UCLA and USC on the last day of their deadlines (in mid-January and mid- March), so I know I have a lot of waiting to do...ho hum! Stephanie
