Thanks for the reply! That's helpful, because I'm thinking I should call Gordon Braden over the next few days to ask if he can give me any sense of the likelihood of being accepted. It will probably help to know that you're taking the spot. Congrats again! Eek waiting on this is a bit stressful... I'm not even 100% sure that UVA is the right place for me, but I can't really say for sure until I talk to some people there.

It seems like maybe they haven't contacted the wait-listed people. I think that Gordon Braden is going to let the wait-listed people know by email, so maybe it hasn't gone through yet on the application website. Who knows though...

I think it would be totally reasonable to contact the DGS about that, particularly if you are poised to accept another offer. It's pretty crazy that it is so late in the game at this point.

Leto, I, too, am so sorry. That is totally inexcusable. What is the deal with UVA? It seems like they run a pretty sketchy operation over there. I wish you all the best of luck on other schools. From this forum, it looks like there are about 4 wait-listers, so who knows what will happen. The results board from last year suggests that people have been accepted as late as April 13th and 15th-- yikes! For anyone else out there who is being driven somewhat crazy over this, I feel your pain and wish you solace.

Hi all, I just joined gradcafe. I was admitted at ND, and there is a strong possibility I will take an offer from another school. I'm going to visit next Monday, so I'll know for sure after then. My field is 20th century and Irish. Good luck!
