I have received acceptances from SUNY Buffalo and Michigan State. I received those at the end of January and have not heard a thing from the other programs I applied to with the exception of course being BU. Have either of you heard anything yet? Good luck to you both!

I received the notice on Friday via snail mail and I live in New York. I would guess that if you have heard nothing yet then you are most likely in a good position, but of course this does depend on where you live.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with CUNY or Columbia's Liberal Studies-American studies programs? What is the quality of the programs? Will having an MA in Liberal studies make you any more marketable as a PhD applicant? Thank you for taking the time to read my questions.

Hello All, Has anyone heard from GWU's American Studies Program?

I am a native born American of ambiguous origins, but I have been told that I have a regional accent. Strange that it should translate through typing though. Interesting . Sorry to hear about your rejection, but I am sure that your other applications will turn out more positively. I am waiting myself. Still have not heard anything. I am also waiting to hear from Yale, Brown, NYU, and also GWU, BU, and Rutgers. I have been accepted by Michigan State and SUNY Buffalo. I am relieved to see here that others have not heard either. I began to freak out when I noticed that one person in the results forum listing a wait list for NYU. Maybe there is still hope? Good luck to all fellow applicants.

Yes, for PhD's. I am very excited, but nervous to hear from the others, especially since I am seeing all the notices that others have received, but have not yet heard anything for American Studies except for the NYU wait list posting you mentioned. I have been wondering the same thing. I also applied to NYU, but have heard nothing. I have been accepted by Michigan State and SUNY Buffalo. Still waiting on NYU, Brown, GWU, BU, Yale, Rutgers, etc.
