  1. This is where it all started, butt.
  2. Hi everyone, I am currently a 1st year SSA student. I have spoken to some admission committee members and it sounds like the competition gets a little more fierce at the last deadline and the funding is less likely to be as substantial. Last year SSA received over 1300 applications and accepted a little over 400 students. The funding at SSA is incredible. Almost everyone in my cohort received the same scholarship as I did - $22,000 per year. I can’t speak highly enough about the program. It is insanely intense but it is extremely structured and well thought out. Good luck to everyone – TURN IN YOUR APPLICATION REGARDLESS OF THE DEADLINE!
  3. I was born in Chicago as well. I currently live in Valparaiso, IN... about 40 minutes outside the city. when do you plan to move up to the city?
  4. PsyK, have you checked out the Immunizations info yet (http://scc.bsd.uchicago.edu/pdf/11_12_New_Student_Immunization_Form.pdf)? I'm gonna get going with that pretty soon. I believe it all needs to be complete by August 19.
  5. I am looking at some places in Bronzeville: 1. http://www.chicagoap...oom-L39682.html 2. http://www.chicagoap...oom-L40194.html 3. http://www.chicagoap...oom-L66494.html 4. http://www.chicagoap...oom-L66495.html I still gotta check out the neighborhoods, it can get a little dicey around there; however, very cheap for being close to SSA. Do you currently live in Chi?
  6. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! you fooled me. I just sent in my acceptance today. So I take it your going to attend as well? awesome scholarship!
  7. You gotta be going a little crazy! Keep us updated
  8. Wow, that is awesome! Congratulations!
  9. So I called admissions at SSA and was told I am accepted with a $22,000 scholarship!!! soooo excited! good luck to everyone else still waiting. For everyone still awaiting a response via postal mail, I was told I should expect a formal letter by the end of next week.
  10. Congratulations! Best of luck.
  11. I hope so!!! Where else have you applied PsyK?
  12. Hi everyone, I applied using the Jan 15 deadline and submitted on the 13th. I contacted admissions on March 15th and they said my app was with the second reader and that they will be making a decision by the end of last week or early this week. My mail box cant take much more opening and closing! Sooo anxious. I also applied to Loyola, and I will be submitting my app to Depaul in a couple days. I'm really hoping for Uchicago or Loyola. Good luck everyone.
  13. Thanks for letting me know! I submitted a few days before the deadline. My mail box is getting worn out. Sooo impatient!
  14. I applied to the University of Chicago SSA masters program using the January 15th deadline. I was expecting a wait of 6-8 weeks, however, it has been almost 11. I called on the March 8th and was told that my application made it through the first "reader" and that it will be sent to the second reader shortly. I emailed the director of admissions on the 15th of March and she told me that I should expect a decision late last week. Has anyone heard from UChicago regarding the Jan 15th deadline for the SSA masters program?
