I'm going to be attending NYU and probably looking to live in Washington Heights. I've heard that you should only really start looking for apartments about a month before you plan on moving in. Is that true, or is it possible to begin looking earlier. The prospect of waiting that long and not finding an apartment in time is pretty scary...
Finally just called them and they told me my decision was "pending" - it's two days till the deadline!! She was nice and told me that the recommendation was one for denial, but keeping something pending this long is just ridiculous and wrong.
I haven't heard yet either. I've emailed the person in charge of grad school stuff three times and she hasn't responded. I emailed the prof I want to work with, and he told me to contact her - how useful!
Thanks . I'm going to be in the cognition and perception department, but I'll hopefully do some work with someone in CNS. I couldn't make it to visit because I've been out of the country, so I had a phone interview, which apparently went a lot better than I thought. I'm going to visit in a couple weeks when I'm back in the US.
Woohoo!! After getting rejected from 6 PhD (UCSD, Illinois, WUSTL, Harvard, Chicago, UC Irvine) programs in a row, I finally got accepted - to one of my top choices!! Wow what a relief, I finally can say that I have SOME source of money for the next 5 or so years.
I don't know if it helps, but I applied to UC Irvine to work with Dr. Loftus, but they told me they thought my app fit better in the neurobiology dept, so they switched it for me (I have experience and interest in both fields, memory overall).
