  1. Thanks - thought it might be him.
  2. Who did you e-mail at NYU? I wrote yesterday and wasn't sure who to write (I wrote to the chair's assistant), but I haven't heard back.
  3. Interesting: nothing there yet. You're probably right that they haven't finished updating the apps. I'm not especially optimistic now!!
  4. Do you know where these decisions are posted? I've been looking on Yale's website but I haven't seen a place to check my actual decision.
  5. I can speak from my own experience this year with Cornell. I've essentially been waitlisted, but it's a kind of economic waitlisting - the department doesn't make offers without financial support, and because of the economy, the support that I would've been offered just isn't there... and so, no offer. They'll let me know if the money appears (which, I assume, might happen if enough people opt out of their Cornell acceptances), but I'm not very optimistic.
  6. I think I'm the one you're talking about, re: the funding result. I got an e-mail saying I'm on a "short list" of people who they want to admit but can't because of funding problems. When I followed up on this, I was told essentially that they don't make offers unless there's funding attached, and because of the current economic situation, there just isn't the money right now. However, they said that they were working on trying to put together some more funding, so I shouldn't give up hope. I'll update when/if I hear more.
  7. I can speak to Rutgers - their website tells me that they haven't reached a decision yet. Of the six schools I've applied to, they're the only one I haven't seen any acceptances/rejections posted, so I suspect they're just taking a while getting themselves sorted out.
