  1. I will attend to this school for my phd in EE. I am looking forward to know everyone who is also coming this fall!
  2. I have a really hard decision to make. I have an offer from Univ. of Iowa and Clemson Univ (EE, PhD). Well, Clemson Univ has my favorite research topic, which is fiber optics (I am not saying that I am not interested in Univ of Iowa's research, which is optoelectronic materials. just a comparison). On the other hand, Univ. of Iowa has better overall reputation and better TA benefit. Clemson provide RA so that I can enter the lab immediately. I don't know how to choose. The deadline is the end of this month. I am looking for advice folks! Thanks a zillion!
  3. Hi! Met again! U r not going? Did u sign something with school a? If so, then I think things will go ugly somehow... Good luck anyway!
  4. Jesus! I've been waiting for more than 5 MONTHS! Will it take forever?! Has any received admission decision from BU EE Dept (PHD, specifically)? I am freaking out!

  7. Thanks for your help! I really need to investigate more about this.
  8. It's a brand new program set up in the Dept of EE, Clemson. It claimed "Clemson’s interdisciplinary graduate program in photonics is one of only two such programs in the U.S." First of all, who is the other one? Second, can any one help explain this new program and the difference from the ordinary EE doctoral program? It will be very helpful Thanks !
  9. got an email from U of Kentucky this morning. The Electrical Department want to interview me regrading my TA application. Any advice or experience folks?
  10. Transfer? I think i will be more inclined to stay in the same place to complete what I am doing there.
  11. I have a really hard choice to make. Now I have a admission from Ohio State University (MS in EE, no financial aid), admission from University of Clemson( PhD in EE, RA) and admissions from University of Kentucky(PhD, waiting for financial aid). I found myself in a dilemma. Ohio State is a very top university and I am so excited it admit me, but it only offered me a master program without funding. My ultimate goal is to earn a phd degree. If I choose ohio state, I will not only have to undergo a two-year self-supported graduate studies, which means a lot of money, but applying PhD again in two years later. Since it's a really decent school, it will be a pity not to go there. On the other hand, Clemson is, well, perhaps not as good as Ohio State, but I can directly pursue my phd degree with benefit. I hope I can get some advice from others, from a new perspective maybe.
