  1. Here's the link for the PDO information for MENA, I'm not sure how I found it, but I think it was with the orientation registration email. It is very helpful and provides a lot of useful information! http://fulbright.state.gov/neaorientation looking forward to meeting everyone
  2. if you're asking about CLEA, I got an email from the Morocco Fulbright commissioner almost two weeks ago asking about CLEA plans - but only full granters in Morocco get CLEA as far as I know. And he never indicated that Moroccan awards were going to be cut. But that might be because its such a small program in comparison to Egypt ... we'll see what happens, I guess. Were you guys who found out CLEA was axed asked before hand what your plans were for it?
  3. I had the same question ....
  4. congrats to you! Its great to see so many people getting accepted. For the rest of you MENA-ers still waiting, hang in there!!!!
  5. I got accepted too!!!!!!!! I'm a Full Grant-er: Name: carol brady Status: accepted Notification date: 4/19 (in Minneapolis, MN) Postmark date: 4/15 academic status: undergrad research area: political science yahooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Does this apply to full grant applicants as well????? ?????? ????? I really want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. For all you Morocco applicants out there, I received the following email from Jermaine Jones when I asked him if it would be a problem if I'm abroad mid-May-mid-June in regards to receiving my grant notification: I really hope that I’ll have the results for Morocco finalized such that you receive your notification letter well in advance of your departure for Germany, thus rendering this concern moot. I'm taking that as a good sign that we'll be finding out sooner than that.
  8. I just discovered this website and forum by chance, and I must say its amazing how many would-be Fulbrighters are on here. You all seem great! It makes me feel better that all other MENA applicants are as anxious to hear as I am ... I applied for a Full grant to Morocco, doing political science research, and plans B and C for post-graduation have officially fallen through! That said, I do have a couple of questions for you guys: 1) Out of curiosity, for those who are undergrads (any Fulbright program) what kinds of things are you thinking of doing if you get rejected/waitlisted? Am I the only one without a remaining back up plan?? 2) I'm also wondering if any forwarded person who applied to do potentially sensitive political science research in any country where political research isn't highly recommended for Fulbrighters has gotten accepted - and not just MENA countries (ex Russia, China, central Asia, wherever). I'm betting either acceptance because they'll want to show how welcoming and open they are to people asking questions, or rejection because its too touchy to do research on inter-party politics in the country, but I doubt I'll be waitlisted Thoughts, anyone??
