  1. I agree with the above comments regarding deciding whether you want to commit to a PhD program or not. In terms of the world of nutrition, UMN has incredibly reputable faculty and research.
  2. Wow, my situation encompasses all of the above (one school offered full ride PhD, other only MA and reapply, I'm too emotionally exhausted to have to go through this process again, and who says no to Harvard?!). Logically, I know the obvious decision, but I am still hesitating to hit "decline..." The great part about it though is that we do have a decision to make (I imagine I'm not the only one here who, at some point in the process, decided they would receive nothing but rejections)
  3. Globalhealth - I currently work in the Longwood area (and am considering attending HSPH, UW, and UNC). I can tell you another strength to add is that a good # of students (that want to continue) continue into their doc programs. As far as the area goes, it depends on how much is feasible (and gender - I wouldn't suggest living near Mission Hill if you are female as its not the best area to have to walk through alone at night, though its very close to the school). Brookline, Allston, and Brighton are relatively affordable and on most bus/train lines.
  4. maybe...some schools allow you to appeal a rejection (check the individual school for their policy on appeals)
