I GOT IT!!! *dying*

I just got an email, saw a "B"... almost died... but it was.... BARNES & NOBLE. Gah.

Hahaha don't be so cruel!! I think we'd pass out.

Well someone on their FB page asked if we were getting them today. They haven't answered yet, so I doubt it.

Same. Stress is killing me, and I have four exams this week. Heck I'd be happy with a simple email that said "yes yuo got it/no you didnt'.

I feel your pain. I have to submit my final info for my study abroad program very soon, and I can't because I'm not paying a non-refundable $500 if I'm not getting the BOren... and class registrations for next semester are this week, and I can't register if I don't know whether I got the Boren or not :-S

I received the survey. The "most specific" questions were about what uni I attend (mine's a small school in a US territory, I even doubt people from my uni have ever applied), and if I would apply for other scholarships (just the Gilman).

I don't think they'll flat out say "This means you didn't get it/this means you'd make it to Nationals"... I'm going more so by what the University of Illinois's website said.

Unfortunately, I think that means MAYBE an email this week and letters will definitely be next week, because they said 'we hope to".

Same boat here. I already am on "special permission" to study abroad next year so I have about two or three days to register for classes at my uni in case I don't get the Boren. :-S I HOPE we get the email first. That way we can ignore the envelope if we didn't get accepted :-( If only they gave us an iPad as well! :-D

Crap. We get our mail here at around 4 pm. I'll let everyone know if I get something.

Ugh, Russian visas.... yeah, I'm going on a summer program in Moscow (I applied for the full year Boren), and the wait for the visa invitation is crazy.

Zaikar, are you a summer applicant? Yeah, they do publish statistics. From last year's statistics the chances of getting the scholarship are like 14%. Unfortunately those statistics don't include whether winners of the award were contacted about their financial info. I pretty much need to know whether I got it or not as as soon as possible because the application due date is may 13, and there's no way I can afford it without the Boren scholarship, so I'm only applying it I get it.

I think they'll send it out tomorrow, considering last year (I heard) they sent it out on May 1st....

Looks like we'll have to wait out for two more days...

Just a few more days (maybe we'll get an email today) and we have our answers....

I'm not a MENA applicant, but I had a situation at my uni that meant I couldn't turn in some of the application materials. I emailed them and told them about it and they were extremely accomodating and helpful and I did receive the "follow up email"... I think they want the best applicants and will help out anyone who applied to a MENA country that for some reason or they other they can no longer go to.

They told me "next week" in an email dated on the 25th.

I have most of my midterms early next week (my uni has had a strike that has made our timeline real bizarre) so I just HOPE they tell us by Friday so I'm not quadruple stressed. :-S Gotta keep telling ourselves "checking your email every ten minutes doesn't make them send it faster".
