  1. If you message me, I can tell you the list of schools I applied to Basically, I applied all over and did not limit myself to the northeast region (where it's really competitive), although I will end up going to school there this Fall. Also, as some people were saying in another post, there is no such thing as 'backup schools.' I applied with the mentality that I should apply to my 'top-choices' and some 'back-ups' just incase (mostly b/c of my low GPA). What happened was I ended up getting rejected to a lot of my 'back-up' schools and ended up getting into my top-choice school. So... my advice is to apply to schools that are "do-able" (check ASHA EdFind) AND, at the same time, schools to where you would realistically go to if accepted.
  2. Hi, I applied for Fall 2011 with a GPA lower than yours. I got into my top-choice school, along with half of the schools I applied to. I really think my GRE scores and my LORs made up for my low GPA. Also, I have research experience and volunteered/shadowed at a speech center for a while. Study hard for the GREs and look for relevant research/clinical experience. It is definitely do-able with a low GPA and excellent LORs and SOP. It's not JUST about GPA
