  1. Hi, I'll be attending York University for graduate studies starting in September. This will be my first time settling in Toronto, and I would like to live in a quiet (study friendly) environment with dedicated graduate students A little bit about my self: I'm a 23 years old, male - highly motivated individual who just completed my undergraduate degree at the Universtiy of Western Ontario. I will be starting MSc in biology at the Centre for Visual Research at York, and would like to purse a pHD degree in the future. I do not smoke nor drinks. I have been on the varsity team at UWO for 2 years, and I like to keep my self active by participating in various of sport activities. If anyone is interest, please reply to my post or email me at chen-shen@live.com Thank you!
  2. I've graduated with a high GPA (> 3.8), with good references and I am confident that I can get into any graduate school in Canada. I'm planning on attending graduate school for either neuroscience or regenerative medicine. I've met with a professor at york who seemed easy to get along and I am very interested in his project; however, I am hesitant in accepting the offer due to the schools reputation. I would like to obtain a pHD eventually and pursue a career in research. I was wondering how important it is to earn a MSc degree at a school with good reputation? Should I accept the offer and work with someone I feel comfortable with, and on project that I am very interested in? or should I try to get in a respectable school like U of T or Mcgill? Thank you for all your help!
  3. Due to having a tough time finding desirable supervisor to do my master's with, I have not submitted my graduate school application. I am still waiting on a prof to reply to me in two weeks regarding whether or not I can obtain a position in his lab starting this summer. However, I might not be offically accepted into the graduate program until the next round of application. I did submit OGS application, and I was wondering whether or not I could still accept OGS offer if i were to obtain it? Thanks so much for all your help!
