Hello, I am an awardee for 2012-2013... I applied through my school, but since my Fulbright project takes place after I have graduated, I didn't need to have IRB approval. I just noted that I don't need IRB approval and the circumstances around why in my project proposal (1 sentence) and that was it. This must have been enough. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that you were not selected.... your application was really strong though.... You're attitude is super great, I hope you do get it the second time around. Sometimes the second time is the charm (It was for me).

Spain People, what cities are you going to be in? I'm headed to Barcelona, for the most part with some time Andalucia, Valencia and Madrid...

I think I may have reached the point where I've been waiting for so long that it doesn't even matter any more... What in the world is taking Spain so long? I'm still hoping for the best, but turning my attention elsewhere.... sigh. No use worrying about the ramifications of a yeah or neigh until I have to... sigh.

I think they mean they haven't gotten the final approval from the Spanish Comission? Oh no, I was hoping for this week, but in light of the Easter holiday (and someone else's report about Italy, I would assume we will hear back next week, but Friday after all the Semana Santa observances are over.... sigh... "hurry the F8&^ up" should be a virtue! sigh. Congrats to the newly minted acceptances!

Dear Spain Research Fulbrighters Contacted Rachel (to make sure our timetable wasn't different from ETA time-table) and she said we would hear back either this week or next (so I guess all Spain folk will find out at the same time), keep clicking refresh, I guess..... On another note, anyone else want to swap essays, I read one and it was really good, curious to see a few more, if any one is willing.

Anyone currently abroad and know how to get the health forms filled out?

Congrats to all have heard back so far! even for those who didn't make it... at least you are no longer on pins and needles. anyone else anxiously waiting to hear back from Spain and hoping this week is it? Last year I think notifications when out early-mid April, but I'm not sure about years previous to that.

Hey Akche, I'm not a Sierra Leone full granter, but was deciding betweeen a project there or in Spain (ultimately decided on Spain after much thought). So awesome that you could be there next year! Where would you be based? Freetown or Kenema I presume? Congrats!

I'm getting a bit ahead here, but are the next round of notifications snail mail only? that's what it seems like from my perusal of last year's thread. Anyone able to confirm?

Y Yeah I did, and I was totally scared too.... oh what a disaster that would have been.

1. Full or ETA?----- Full 2. Country?------- Spain 3. Recommended/rejected/alternate?---- Recommended I just want to say sorry to everyone that didn't make it this round. I actually applied for a grant a few years back and did not make it to the next round. It all works out for the best in the end... As for those who were recommended... the wait continues :-)

All these posts about affiliates, made me go back and re-read my application. sigh. January 20th can't get here fast enough. On another note, are there any other Full-grant Spain applicants?

My plan B is to find a job that ideally would send me to same place. But my attittude right now, is what ever is meant to be will be, it would be great to know I wonder why it takes so long between all the decisions coming in and them sending out the notification emails... or (maybe it just feels so long). I turned the application in October and tried to put it out of my mind since it was going to be several months before we heard anything... But ever since we got closer and closer to ringing in the new year, my excitement/desire to just know already grows and grows. Oh well, that's the nature of the beast. Good luck to everyone. I'm hoping that we at least find out by Next Friday.

I wish I had known this before choosing a major city in Spain. But I wonder could the reason really be price? I thought all FB to the same country got the same stipend.
