have you tried contacting those departments specifically regarding your questions? I think thats the best thing to do, maybe im not understanding what you are trying to ask.????? Are you trying to get a hold of them or are you advertising this opportunity? confused. :? -
when your on a wait list, they already have a pre-arranged order. There is nothing you can do except wait. Letting them know your still interested and willing to submit additional materials does not help. Your on a wait list, you have a number, join the club. Relax and don't send shorts or anything thing else embarrassing, it is more likely to hurt your chances in the end. IF you want to email your potential advisor, do so at your own discression, some may find this annoying, or forward it to the department head. Good Luck.

I am originally form back wast and came to Utah to do my undergrad at Utah state university. Salt lake city ROCKS!! people from my school commute down their all the time. It has a very city like and liberal aspect to it as well as a very old classic and conservative vibe. The university of utah is a great school with tons of events, and not lame stuff like "Frisbee night" or "night tag". They have alot of really good bands that come to the school (the students from USU commute to the U's events very often), and their football team rocks! All their sport teams are really good and alot of people attend the games, which are very entertaining. The graduate school ( faculty members and their graduate students i have worked with on publications, in labs) is very hard working and intelligent, but don't ever be afraid to ask them for anything, they are the nicest people! The state is VERY religiously oriented. The dominate religion is LDS but those who are members of a different faith are very active in their own faith as well, from my experiences. Salt lake is more religiously liberal and non judge mental that USU, the farther north the more discriminitive people are about religious beliefs. It will seem a bit shocking at first how religious people are and how nice. The culture is very overwhelming at first and very conservative, but i tihnk in SLC you will not face as many of those problems seeing as though they have a very highly ranked school with a very diverse group of people in the graduate department. let me know if i can be of any more help!

frankdux: I got the EXACT SAME MESSAGE from ASU today after i have tried to contact them! Has anyone hears from ASU Behavioral Neuroscience program? -
Does a longer wait mean denied?
ItsBrainScience replied to ItsBrainScience's topic in Waiting it Out
I have found out that Longer wait= You weren't one of the first round applicants you got offered admission now you have an even longer wait to see if those who got offered admission will accept or deny their offers by april 15th which we all know they will take their sweet time. THEN you have an even longer wait because those first round applicants took their precious time (Until april 14th at 11:50 PM to make their decision) accepting or rejecting the offer. Then after april 15th.... you may finally get a rejection letter or an acceptance letter... UGHHHHHH..... this SUCKS!!! -
Oh apparently my program doesn't send rejection letters or update their website about rejections until the first round of recruits accept or deny their offers WTF!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for telling me i'm wait listed or Rejected until a ton of accepted people freaking reject!!!! oh and graduate school and department, thank you for FINALLY telling me something on March 18th, really freaking awesome and your customer service SUCKS!!!!!!

allison! WOOHOO!! CONGRATS!!! getting into any psychology PhD. program is hard you freaking rock ! if you are sold on the program you should accept. Where did you interview?
-
A large percentage of schools abide by the April 15th deadline. If it says give a response by April 15th, it means exactly what it says. If it notifies you of a date any other than April 15th, respond by that specified date. If however there is no specified date, call the department to get a specific date to reduce jeopardizing your chances of them dismissing your application because you did not abide by the rules and respond on a specific date.

I applied to ASU the behavioral neuroscience division and have heard nothing yet does anyone else have any experience with ASU or did anyone else apply their? hmmm...... Still waiting.

To Below Three: I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE you! I also have below a 3.0 GPA and i have been pretty successful with Acceptances, now I am waiting to hear from my dream school, it is the only school i have not heard from. I appreciate your honesty and optmism/realism. Grades aren't all that matter, you can have a student who has an immaculate academic record and perfect scores on the GRE, this does not imply that the individual can employ concepts they have learned in the academic world to research oriented careers. Below three, you freaking rock, i am very proud of my GPA and i am happy to find other people who feel the same!

anyone else not hear a single thing yet?
ItsBrainScience replied to frankdux's topic in Waiting it Out
I have not heard a thing! I applied to ASU and my application status said "IN review" i have not heard anything or gotten ny emails. It is so frustrating isn't it! -
may i ask who you are working with? I am excited for you! Did your status change today? or recently? What line of research are you into? CONGRATS! the psy program is pretty hard to get into!
-
Did it just show up on your ASU account, like did your status change from "In Review" to Accepted? or did you get an email sent to the ASU email they gave you? To decline i believe you have to do it with the formal letter they send through the postal service, you have to mail back the sheet that says accept or decline. The process was pretty easy i just wish they would notify you when they have all your materials, i have not heard anything since i submitted the materials, it just says in review ugh. How was the process for you?

Just wondering if anyone out there has applied for Behavioral Neuroscience programs and if so where, have you been rejected, accepted? feedback please, im new here! I applied to ASU and have not heard anything, my application status just said "In review" no accepted, no rejected nothing   .
