I will not be attending until fall 2014, but I am very curious where you all find housing for next year. Any tips on the housing search would be great!

The worst they could say is no, right? You are still admitted and can choose to attend if they don't grant the deferral.

Did they accept your deferral request?

Just got back from a tennis match and saw the email. Almost couldn't open it I was so nervous.... ACCEPTED!!! So excited! So fun to see all of us on here on a Friday night too! Hope to see some of you in Cambridge in April! We seriously need to all meet each other!

Where are you guys finding scholarships for graduate school? I looked awhile back and could barely find any.

I'm curious about this too... when you log in does it just have all the items with green check marks? Before you click on your app does that status say submitted? or does it say complete? I'm probably just overly anxious but curious what you guys see.

My end goal is to be a Director of Admissions or V.P. of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid. I think it's definitely worth the investment in my side of higher education. Most upper management positions in higher education require a masters if not a PhD, so for my goals it makes sense. The debt is still a bit daunting though especially considering my husband is in medical school!

I have been having lots of nightmares lately. I think from all of the anxiety of waiting. However, last night I had a dream about getting accepted to HGSE and I was in Cambridge at an open house event. It was wonderful! I woke up in such a good mood. Hang in there everyone!

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for the Master's program in Higher Education? I love the blog on the main page right now about "One of us is right." One minute I feel really confident and then the next I'm worried. Who knew the waiting part was going to be the hardest part about this application process!

I need some advice. I completed my application to a Masters program at an Ivy League back in October. My husband is in medical school and at the time of applying we were told he would be sent all over the midwest for rotations. We both agreed it would be a good time for me to complete the one year program. However, now his school is talking about adding rotations for next year locally and making fourth year much more transient. He will find out in February and my school will send admission decisions in March. Their deferral policy is to write an explaination of the change in circumstances, although deferrals are rarely granted. Should I wait and find out my decision and then request a deferral or should I request to have my application moved to next year? I don't want to hurt my chances of admission since this is a dream program for me. But I also would prefer to only spend one year away from my husband. Thanks for the advice.

For Higher Education the only place I have currently applied is HGSE. I am considering applying to Michigan and the University of Iowa. I also applied to an MPA program at Drake, but I would prefer a Higher Education program. I have looked at Stanford POLS as well.

Loseric, it was for Ed.M. It was in mid-October. They did not open up for questions until the end, although they did make it interactive at the beginning where we clicked a map showing where we were all from and they had some basics questions about how many years we have worked, which year we were planning to apply, etc. The rest of the event had the program director share a little bit about the structure of classes, internships, and the president in residence program. They talked a lot about the flexibility of the program with the three core required courses and then the flexibility to choose courses from across campus. Two current students shared their experience up to this point. It was really valuable to hear from them and about their search for a program and why they chose HGSE. It was followed by a brief overview of the application process, and then the last ten minutes or so were open to questions answered electronically as well as some by the speakers. It was extremely organized and informational. Since I can't get away from work right now to go visit in person, it definitely helped. What types of questions came up at last night's event. Anything important?

No How was it? I attended the higher education session last month which included some application information as well. I loved the Higher Education session. It was very informative and I learned even more about the program.

I am taking the GRE in about a week. Any advice on the best way to study this last week? I reviewed books, taken practice exams, memorized words, etc. but curious if any of you have advice on what I should focus on these final days of studying? Thanks for the help!

All of you who have been accepted to the Higher Education program, what did you get on your GRE? Also any advice about your personal statement would be greatly appreciated!
