  1. Well, if Stanford is in .. I would pick it . Coz its location ( Palo Alto ) is simply awesome for Jobs opportunities, plus it a league higher than Columbia. UIUC and Stanford are almost equaly good in research.. but Stanford is better in terms of location, weather etc. But i think Stanford is really expensive .. Is it costlier than Columbia ?
  2. I'm in a similar dilemma, I have been accepted for Masters at Columbia U and Purdue. Both are ranked the same on US news .. and I haven't got any funding from either one of them. Columia seems very lucrative, coz of being in NYC, an Ivy league univ, excellent placement record and active Machine Learning and Computer Vision research(my areas) .. Purdue on the other had, in almost half the cost of Columbia and has higher chances of getting aid as TA/RA in future, but the job scene doesn't look good there. So, money wise purdue is better, but columbia scores everywhere else .. I'm inclined towards columbia, but purdue is still in my mind .. Can someone list any pros/cons of columbia/purdue, which might help me firm up my mind ?
  3. Hi, I received my email at I've been accepted at Columbia .. but I don't understand the scene for funding, the email says So, does it mean I should have already been informed if were to receive any funding, or does it mean I should wait. Anyways, the website clearly says that TAs are not for new admits, there are only very limited GRAs available. I wrote to the director of the Machine Learning lab there to enquire about chances of funding. Has anyone else admitted to Columbia ( MS ) received information about funding ?! Thanks
  4. Hi, My Application Decision Status on Columbia's website, changed from Pending to Accepted with a Green Tick Mark. I guess this means I'm accepted, but I haven't received any email about the admission or funding whatsoever, on Columbia's CS MS FAQ page, it says that as soon as your decision is posted, the system automatically informs you via email, which has not happened. So, I'm confused as to what's happening .. Any Idea's ?? Thanks
