I've been here a short while but I've been a few times in grand central late night (~ 11-midnight) and it always seemed very safe: decent number of people, some police presence, well lit, etc. Can't really speak for times square since I haven't ventured there late night.

I'm starting CUNY (PhD Computer Science) this Fall and looking for a place to live. Wondering if any other students from CUNY or other schools might be interested in pooling efforts to find an apartment and room together. Any other advice or tips would be welcome.

Starting in Computer Science. Looking for roommates/apartments ... appreciate any pointers or contact from anyone interested in pooling efforts. Also, if other students are already in the city and interested in meeting up, maybe we can arrange something in this thread?
