Not sure if you've already handed in the essay, but I thought I would reply anyway.
From my experience, the best way to structure a critical thinking essay is: argument, counter-argument, counter-argument TO counter-argument. That means that you set up your argument (what your expectations were; this is the thesis), then offer counter arguments to your argument (conflicting evidence why your expectations may not have been upheld, then tear down that counter argument with all your evidence showing that it actually was held up.
