  1. By the way, MPP apps were up 30% this year. Just my luck.
  2. According to the MPP FAQs: "Once openings occur, all alternate applications are reviewed." That would make sense given the small size of the waitlist pool (only 8 applicants). It seems that there's a viable chance of admission for waitlisted MPP applicants. I would assume the same is true for MPA folks as well.
  3. Waitlist for me! I'll take it (mainly because I have to).
  4. I hate the way that message reads. Why not just say, "Decision emails will be sent by ." Any time someone uses "on or around" or other squirrely language like that, I get nervous. And does "after that time" mean "on or around" late Friday, Monday, April, May, June?! I can't tell if the message is the result of deliberate deception or simply poor writing. OK....that's my rant for the day. I've stepped down from the ledge. I'll be happy to hear from WWS on or around whenever admissions decision notifications are made available and I receive an email after that time.
  5. Well, I just realized the other day that I failed to put my policy memo in memo form--which is both irritating and surprising, given that I write no less than 5 memos per week. And I put ALL of them in memo form. Hopefully, the decision doesn't come down to that....though I'm sure it could.
  6. That's definitely the impression that I get, and I believe it's intentional on their part. However, I am interested in domestic policy as well (specifically educational policy), and they offer a significant number of relevant courses. So we'll see. WWS is the only policy school I could justify leaving my job for...you simply can't match the resources, prestige, and convenience (their MPP prog is only 9-months long). Hopefully, I made a strong enough case for myself. I guess that question will be answered very soon.
  7. Undergrad GPA: about 3.0 from unremarkable school....poli sci Law school GPA: around 50%ile from school with some name cache Doctor of Ed GPA: about 3.9 from well-known school V: 690 Q: 730 Writing: 5 7 years WE in higher ed Applied to WWS (MPP)...concerned about academic record, area of interest (domestic policy...I know WWS strong suit is int'l)...too many degrees...pedigree...giving my income, if accepted
  8. I swear I checked the WWS website before bothering you folks! I guess the Good Book was correct when it proclaimed reading to be FUNdamental.
  9. Thanks for the welcome. I applied so long ago that I lost track of time, and then last night I awoke in a cold sweat wondering if I should have been expecting a decision. Glad I came across this board!
  10. Hi folks, I'm an MPP applicant to WWS. Does anyone know when and how they will notify of admissions decisions? I assume it's some time this month, but that's just an assumption. On a related note, I'm new to the board and still making my way around. So I apologize if the questions have been asked and answered. Thanks!
