Thanks, those are good points.
I know it's definitely nit-picky, but I am applying to architecture programs so I gotta get my lettering just right, haha.

Hello,
I have a few easy questions.
1: In my SOP, do I title it "Statement of Purpose" in the center of the header, and then my name, DOB right justified above it? Is there anything else I need to put in the actual essay as far as titles, etc?
2: When it comes to mailing physical copies of documents (portfolio, transcripts, etc), should they be organized in any particular way? What sort of exterior envelope should I use (bubble mailer, white envelope, yellow, etc)? Does it matter? I know these may be trivial things but I just want to make sure it doesn't look sloppy or unprofessional.
Is it bad etiquette to send it in an express mail envelope? I need to get my documents to a school by Thursday, so I may have no choice.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Thank you

That's a good idea. Is it bad etiquette to widen margins/reduce font size too? I suppose it would be less obvious than a third page. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have a similar concern regarding word counts. One of my schools doesn't specify the number of words, but just says "no more than two pages, double spaced." I have edited ruthlessly and am down to 2 pgs + 4 lines (approx 60 words) into the next page.
Do you think this is acceptable?

Sorry about that George, my prompt came specifically from the Architecture department's website. I should have realized that it'd be different between departments.

Must of my stattament is about the social work I have done.... an a little bit about my ethnic background.
How long are you guys doing this and the sop? how many words?
The prompt states that it should be no more than two pages, double spaced. I find the most difficult part of this is condensing it into such a short essay. I'm at 643 words, and just barely over 2 pages.
I'm going to work on it a little bit more but I'd love to do an exchange at some point.

Hey guys,
I am also applying to Berkeley (for M.Arch) and am struggling a bit with the PHS. How have you guys approached it thus far? I'm interested in focusing on public interest design (in architecture) and I'm trying to implement a combination of my experience with social-oriented work and creative work.
I'm a bit stuck at the moment. Please feel free to share how you guys have been approaching this
Thanks
