Hi all,
I am new to this forum and happy to see you guys here!
I have a few confusions and it would be highly appreciated if you guys could give me some ideas:
I am from China and now working in Australia as a traffic engineer in one operating brach of AECOM. I to hold a master degree in Australia. (master of civil engineering science, coursework only, 2 course remaining, due to complete this July).
As it is my dream to work in US (consultancy preferred), I guess it would help if I hold a master degree from a well-known US institution. I probably won't consider PHD as I am not very interested in solely research.
However, my GPA of my bachelor degree is very very low, only 1.88/4 and my GPA in my pursuing master degree would be around 73-74%. I know it is my main weakness.
What I want to ask is if it is possible my working experience in consultancy could be a plus, or even a dominant factor to be offered an admission.
My work is very closed to what I want to study in US, but I don't know how valuable it would be.
I have a competent IELTS grade (overall 7, band 7,7,6.5,6.5) and I am confident in getting reasonable GRE grade.
So could you please give me some suggestions towards:
1. If it is possible to get an admission from rank 1-50 Institution?
2. How many years of working experience would be sufficient to be counted as a plus?
Thank you!
