  1. TC. if offered NYU and TC, and the same amount of funding, would anyone actually choose NYU? NYU's IED MA program takes 2 years to complete and requires and internship (aka you pay for those internship credits), while TC is one year- which in my opinion gives you the option to stretch the program length to 2 years, do an independent internship (and not pay for it!), and get the same degree. NYU's housing is also ungodly expensive. has anyone looked at that?!?!
  2. I applied to both IED programs in New York City (NYU and TC) because if you consider opportunities to work in the field while completing your degree, there is nowhere with more diverse and interesting options than New York. I guess it depends on what you are looking for, but that was the most important factor for me. Also, in regards to the length of the program NYU's MA program is 2 years and requires an internship, while the TC program is 1 year (including summer) and doesn't have an internship requirement. Since I can finish my degree for less time AND less money with TC, it seems like the best option. Plus, they don't make you pay for internship credits like NYU does. And sorry- I know nothing about Harvard's program! This might not help at all!
  3. I just got accepted to Columbia's IED program!!!! I began checking the application website constantly and found out before the email was sent! Now I feel a lot better since I've been waiting around in South America just dying to know what to do next... this is a big surprise for me since I am 22 and was afraid I lacked experience. Guess not!
  4. I applied to both as well... I think Columbia TC is more recognized and offers more professional tracks, while NYU is apparently more expensive and draws a younger, less professional crowd (people who have less work experience, anyway). I'm 22 so I imagine I'll get into NYU over Columbia, but would take a TC offer in a heartbeat. Still waiting...
  5. Still waiting to hear back from the International Education Development program.... I only applied to two schools and I'm pretty much just twittering my thumbs in South America waiting to create my backup plan so I really want to know NOW! Anyone hear back from IED yet? Waiting: NYU, TC Accepted: nothing yet... Rejected: nothing yet...
