I can't believe people don't have opinions/ knowledge about the programs... where are you all hiding? So let's more specific: Harvard's IEP program or Stanford's IEAPA? Differences? Thoughts?

Hi there. I'm facing a similar predicament, tough life huh? anyway, I don't know how comparable they are, but I get the sense that Harvard's IEP program is more practitioner directed and Stanford's IEAPA program is more research focused, particularly as evidenced by the monograph. I having difficulty getting a sense of other differences, including reputation/esteem in the specific professional sub-specializations. Anyone else have potentially helpful thoughts?

So does anyone else think it strange/frustrating that the admit days for some programs are the same at both Harvard and Stanford???

Does harvard ever offer MA funding like Stanford? And does anyone know when they might make decisions about fellowships? Thanks!

I was thinking about going to admit day. It's a bit of a trek from the east coast and on a work day... but I think it might be really helpful as we near decision time... are you going MochaLatte?

PavoReal, yesterday I started another thread to this same end, hoping to compare the various Intl Ed programs (including TC). I'm hoping some people will share their insights and would certainly like to hear your thoughts too... (It's entitled "Comparing International Education Masters Programs" or something equally ingenious )

Accepted on Monday (via email) into the Masters IEAPA program. Anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks alexchoto... I think you make a couple good points. I keep wondering if there is any objective information out there about the IE programs but I guess given the size of the higher ed market, our program segment is pretty small. I've found some odd/interesting articles about IE programs by rummaging around google but nothing of particular substance. Anyone else want to weigh in on how you see/rate the various IE programs? Please?

Heard from TC today. I too received that spooky email with a link to the application and then an embedded link for the decision. Got in though. Phew. (MA International Education Development). Anyone else hear from them today too?

Hi all, As I wait for admissions decisions, I'm trying to compare International Education (IEP, IEAPA, IED etc) masters programs from a content, curriculum, general experience and reputation standpoint. Having worked in the field for a few years, I continually come across HGSE IEP grads in high places who rave about the program. I've had a lot less contact with graduates from other programs. In your opinion and experience, how do the programs compare school to school? What are your top picks and why? Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!

Congrats Amazingrace! I'm IED also and haven't heard yet (although I did have some transcripts that were lagging...)
