Can I apply unary method like , I got 77.7% out of 100% So, from a scale of 4.0 I will get => (77.7* 4)/100= 3.108 Is the above method correct ??

Actually , I have done a 4 year bachelors degree from India & my aggregate was 77.7% . Now, I'm applying for a few Canadian Universities , where they need my under graduation percentage to be converted to CGPA. Because minimum requirement for applying is 3.2 CGPA out of 4.0. Therefore I need to convert my percentage to CGPA before applying to desired Universities.

I have done bachelor of engineering in Computer Science with 77.7 %(Percentages). I want to know the procedure used to calculate GPA & CGPA, actually I'm applying to Computer Science department and they need CGPA
