  1. I hate this time of year--not getting my hopes, that way if I get in to any program, it'll be a pleasant surprise.

    Duke Div...

For what its worth, most people in the MDiv program receive some form of funding from the general grant. I applied at the literal midnight hour for the april deadline in 2009 and received some funding when I was notified in May that I was accepted. Its a great place to be, but it can certainly be expensive.
  3. I'm finishing up in the MDiv program at Duke and the NT professors associated with the Divinity School (Joel Marcus, Doug Campbell, Richard Hays, Kavin Rowe, Susan Eastman) are confessing Christians. Some are more reserved about saying what they think on matters of faith, others are quite upfront about it. They aren't evangelicals per se, but if you're coming from an evangelical background it won't hurt you, as I've met people who've come from more evangelical/conservative seminaries that are in the PhD/ThD program.
  4. I took it this morning and had the same thing happen to me. I got a predicted 710-800 in verbal on the practice test and 650-750 on Quantitative. Actual scores were 163 verbal (equivalent to 650) and 150 Q (630). So, it was significantly lower in the verbal and slightly lower in the quantitative. Other people I talked to experienced the same situation. Kinda frustrating, but oh well.
