  1. M&E people, P3 position in Tanzania just out. Get on that if you're not already!
  2. Valéry and Bts, any update on induction dates? Cheers
  3. Hi TG . It's a country office, but I'd rather keep the location under wraps for now. And yes still the P2 position.
  4. Hey bts. I'm going to my posting next month. I did have the final interview with the country office. I don't know if I was the only candidate they interviewed, but the interview itself was pretty technical (mine was, to be honest, a lot more technical and harder than the NETI interview). I guess it can vary depending on the country office, though. If I were you I'd just go on with the job offer you accepted, the unicef process can take (yet) more time. If a firm unicef offer does materialize, I'm sure your employer will understand and unicef will let you give fair notice.
  5. Hey Val. Yes, I got an email saying to log on to the recruitment website to get my terms of employment (salary and entitlements) and letter of appointment. I had to complete a form (update of personal details) , and then had to print, sign, and scan the offer of appointment letter, and email it back. Then you receive onboarding instructions. Easy piece-y.
  6. In my talent group days (says the old man) they told me that I should apply to positions I'm interested in and write to the person in HR who notified me of my talent group placement to let them know I was applying. They also old me that there was no guarantee that a country office would chose from the talent group. That said, I've also been told that this year the process is going to be slightly different, because there are new recruitment rules aimed at increasing country offices' use of the talent groups. So I'd say, if you've been notified you're in a talent group and see a position at the appropriate level you'd be interested in, let HR know. It can't hurt.
  7. Hey BTS, check out the employment page, a post for social policy specialist p3 in Myanmar just came up. Perhaps they'll offer this to someone in the talent pool
  8. I'm making the opposite journey, World Bank for UNICEF. Best of luck at the bank! And keep trying, for me third time was the charm.
  9. Just one: have hard deadlines for each phase of the process and stick to them.
  10. Hi all, Just logged in to the UNICEF website and noticed that, although I haven't received a notification letter, my status has changed to "assigned to talent group". Check yours!
  11. Congrats BTS! Fingers crossed you get a NETI post and we meet in NY!
  12. I'm sure there will be more winners here! Btw, thank you all for keeping this thread going, it's very useful for managing the anxiety and uncertainty throughout this very, very, very long process.
  13. Thanks! I'm sure you'll get an offer soon and we'll see each other in NY! Didn't you say btw that they told you the post they were interviewing for?
  14. Hi Valery, yes I've been in the P2 talent pool for a couple of years now, but they only now offered me a position. Sucks because now I will accept the position (I'd be crazy not to, right?) but that will mean foregoing my chance for a P3 position from this year's selection process. Anyway, hopefully see you in NY!
  15. Yeah, in the past NETI applications were all for a specific post, and runner ups got placed in the talent pool.
  16. How did it go, Valery? I haven't received notification about this year's, but did get an offer at the P2 level from being placed in last year's talent pool.
  17. Hmm, they way I think it works is they put you in the talent pool, country offices with a position going select among the candidates, and those selected get an offer. Of course you can say no but then there's no guarantee of when or if you will be selected by a different country office.
  18. Hey guys, also still waiting here. For me in social policy it was always for the p3 talent pool. I asked during the interview and they said they'd probably have two batches of people posted (and therefore 2 NETI inductions), mid-year and year-end.
  19. Hi! They ask for references for anyone that makes it to the interview, they asked both times before as well. And yes, one of my referees confirmed they'd been contacted. Best of luck!
  20. Just logged in to the UNICEF websites and tried to change one of my references because one of my referees won't be available, and it says that all the reference requests have gone out. What a time of the year to speed up the process... Anyway, good luck guys!
  21. Hi Valery. Sorry I didn't reply before, I'm home for the holidays and on family life overdrive. In case you haven't had yours yet, the interview is competency based, which means they ask you to refer back to particular types of situations and describe how you dealt with them. This time around it was shorter: I remember there were some 5 or so competency-based questions last year, and this year only 3. They say the total interview time is around 45 minutes, and in my case that was about right (43 or so). Hope this helps and good luck!
  22. Social policy invite just in guys! Best of luck to you all!
  23. Yeah, they take their time. This is my third try, and the previous two times I didn't get the final rejection letter until March.
