  1. In at Harvard. If only I knew about funding...
  2. In at HKS. So any idea when we might hear about money? Or do we assume there is none...
  3. Are we expecting $$ decisions to arrive with admission notifications?
  4. I really appreciate your spirit of positivity. Thanks for that push going into the week.
  5. In at Duke. 22k ... still leaning towards CMU Heinz DC. I like that I'd be able to work in that 2nd year, giving me the chance to move back to New Orleans sooner than later.
  6. Looks like we applied to some similar schools getting similar aid packages. I think I'm considering my options with the same mind. The 20K salary you make with the DC track, in addition to their generous scholarship packages, makes the program perfect for someone looking to work without worrying about life-alterning debt. Great aid from HKS, Duke, or Michigan could change my thinking though.
  7. Whew. It's been a busy week: Heinz (DC Track) - $24K Chicago (MPP) - $10K Maxwell (MPA) - admitted, haven't heard about aid
  8. Update: Talked with an admissions representative and switched my acceptance from the three semester track to the DC program. He walked me through the benefits of both and we decided that was the better fit.
  9. I received an informal email from admissions at CMU Heinz informing me of an offer and asking if I wanted to learn more about the DC track. For anyone else interested or waiting, they told me I'd receive an official offer letter in a week or so. I'm intrigued by the DC track program. Beyond what I've read on their website, do any of you have any perspectives regarding this alternative program?
  10. Admissions indicated it was optional.
  11. Hello seasoned HKS applicants, My approach to the Resume / CV section is crafting a standard business one-pager that highlights professional accomplishments and leadership. What are our thoughts on this approach as opposed to a more detailed/academic CV? Frankly, I feel like anyone reviewing a resume glances at or uses a rubric to rate key achievements and then moves on, but this is a personal view. Also, should salary information be included for every held position? For me, some positions lasted for a summer and others were part-time, so I imagine it would be awkward to detail these understandably modest salaries. Could this be more of an expectation for the mid-career MPP? Anyway, this is my first post, but I've been lurking in the shadows for a bit of time. Good to feel like part of the dialogue! Best of luck to all!
