  1. I'm a theorist and i've not had any word from UCLA just yet. I'm thinking it's probably a rejection but who knows.
  2. I've found this to be pretty helpful. Again, it uses older data, but it ranks programs along their placement and hiring capacities: http://jhfowler.ucsd.edu/social_networks_in_political_science.pdf Anyone want to suggest some weekend reading while I slowly grow insane watching my empty inbox?
  3. Gah! I still haven't heard anything...I think next week will be my week.
  4. Someone posted a UCSB acceptance via website. (If you're here) did they direct you to the website via email or did you randomly check?
  5. No change in my status either. Tomorrow may be eventful.
  6. Yeah, i've found other discrepancies as well. Perhaps it's severly outdated.
  7. I think it varies tremendously. I'm sure UVA, Notre Dame and Johns Hopkins get 200+. Likewise, schools near major metro areas probably also get close to that number, think CUNY, Rutgers, Georgetown, George Washington. This website provides some information if you search a specific school. I'm not sure how accurate it is though. http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools.aspx
  8. @Ironheel I also applied to UCSB (and really like their program), as well as a few other "non top 15" programs. Generally it is my sense that while these schools, "30-50" range aren't as difficult to garner admission into, they are by no means "easy" or "safe." PM me to share stats.
  9. Normative Theory, Critical/Continental Bend. Obsessively checking email and gradcafe for results, on pins and needles. Good luck everyone.
  10. To my knowledge, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati only run M.A. programs currently. Your GPA looks good, my guess is you'll be fine as far as funding goes if you get into some of those places. It does seem like an eclectic mix though; care to share research interests? I'm sure folks on here would be in a position to better advise you if they knew a little more about your "fit" at a particular place.
  11. Good to see this thread getting going! Just finished my applications last night. Good luck to all this cycle!
