  1. gah rejectd from chicago. oh well. got into one school that is a really good fit
  2. Anyonw wish to claim the Emory acceptance and elaborate how you found out, etc.
  3. It doesnt hurt to ask. It really doesnt. Especially if you cant sleep at night or are so worried you can concentrate. I'm sorry TMP, I'm not trying to say you're wrong, because you're not. People should be patient. But just know if you're SO worried and or curious its affecting you, then it doesn't hurt to call. I've called all the schools and asked w/o giving my name.
  4. You could always call the administrative assistants and ask them or the graduate coordinators.
  5. I agree. Its definitely the economy too. Because of all of these factors, I would just be glad to get in anywhere -- I really dont care if i'm fully funded or not. It just seems that no matter how hard you worked on your application or if you're a finalist, whatever, things can change in an instant and that sucks
  6. I think after the beginning of next week, there won't be that much going on until March. I know that Emory decisions are coming out soon and I don't know about Harvard, but five of the other schools I applied to won't be giving decisions until early march
  7. Cornell is not meeting until the end of february. So no one will know until then or early March. ugh
  8. And, not as exciting as the Ivies, but I did receive news that I got into U Arizona yesterday, which is one of my top choices. So, they're starting to send out other decisions soon FYI.
  9. I found out that Emory will be giving/making final decisions "by the end of this week". That piece of information was given to me on Monday.
  10. Congrats to everyone getting good news!!!
  11. agreed. they see past my experience, my hard work, etc and just see the school.
  12. I don't think so. If you're a good candidate, you're a good candidate. If you're unique in whatever way, you're unique. Cornell asks people to write a diversity essay. What I don't think people understand is that it is not just limited to race for some schools.
  13. From what I've read, schools consider minority to be anything from a limited number of a particular race studying a field to first person in family to go to college. none of them really define what they are looking for in diversity.
