  1. This is coming really late, but I was accepted today by CSEUB for Fall 2013!
  2. I was notified that the admissions process could take up to June. People have already been rejected off the waitlist, so that might be a good sign for your husband that he's still in the running for a spot.
  3. Has anyone gotten an email from CSUEB? it seems like they're going out now.
  4. Fullerton has an emphasis on the bilingual track and there are two professors in the department that are Korean actually.
  5. Ahh no. Last year, CSUN sent out admissions decisions well after the April 15th deadline and gave their applicants 2 days to decide... I hope it's not like that this year.
  6. Yep- fullerton already sent out calls last friday to those that were accepted. Only 14 seats for the grad program... The grad advisor also stated that there is no wait list this year (doesn't make sense to me) and that rejections will be going out this week. If you dont receive anything by next week, it's probably not a good sign either. I think ~4 from CSUF were accepted and the rest.. I'm not too sure. Congrats to those that were! This was my reach and the school of my choice, but didn't realize how incredibly impacted it was at offering only 14 seats.
  7. There were a few acceptances that went out last friday for CSUF. ... there was no activity on grad cafe so i'm really hoping these were early admits and that the grad committee may have some finishing up still.
  8. Any word from SJSU or CSUN too? I feel like I have had no contact with CSUN ever since I applied.
  9. I'm a post-bacc at Fullerton and FYI- Dr. Tsao informed our class that she's still finalizing the graduate applications at the moment and will be finalizing decisions by next week (this could carry to the first week of April). Also, phone calls+e-mails are going to be sent out to the admitted students. I'm not sure where people heard that admissions decisions were going to be finalized by last Friday, but just know that it's going to happen very soon!
  10. Rejected as well.. SDSU was definitely a reach for me though so I really didn't expect much. But, damn.. it hurts
  11. Did anyone have their interview with CSULA yet? FYI-Someone told me 3 situational questions were asked and the writing segment was unrelated to CD. Anyone have an example of what situational questions they asked- please post here. Thanks!
  12. There a few more acceptances to SDSU that were just posted!
  13. it begins!!! congrats! can you post your stats for us?? and i recieved a call from an 858 number yesterday (thats san diego, btw) and my heart jumped. I picked it up and it was UCSD (my undergrad institution) asking for an alumni donation.... AGHHHHh
  14. I've applied to 6 schools- and expect to hear back in march at the earliest. I've gotten an interview with CSULA for this month and I have been informed that their admissions decisions will be handed out at the end of march! EEK!
  15. Your Girlfriend has a good chance of getting one of those programs! SDSU and CSULB are particularly competitive, but she has impressive stats. CA programs are definitely impacted, so i'm personally nervous of not getting accepted into any programs with my stats :/ But keep encouraging her and im sure she will get in!
  16. I believe that diversity can definitely give you an edge. That being said, I think that graduate programs want you to be a competitive applicant too. In california at least, there's a huge need for bilingual SLPs as many of the SLPs entering the workforce are as you stated, caucasian females. Keep your stats up, but I would say not to rely too much on your ethnic background nor your sex to gain admittance!
  17. I will be applying to 4 in Socal and 2 in norcal. I'm hoping I get accepted to at least one in each region. I would preferably not want to move out, but if the situation calls for it, i'll have to. Where will you be applying?
  18. Does anyone know what certain programs focus on? By this i mean what schools would better prepare you for.. lets say, working in a clinic or public school setting? I would particularly like to know more about SJSU's program and also CSULA's. I'm very interested in a multi-cultural worksphere, and would like to get a bilingual certification if possible. (I know SDSU offers this.. but any other schools?)
  19. I have a question for you guys- i'm aware that SFSU'S program is centered around the public school setting and training you for that kind of environment for the future. any ideas on what the focus for the other CalStates are?? (in particular, CSUEB, SJSU?)
  20. Hello future applicants! it's getting close to application time... I'm a CA resident and would prefer to stay in-state, but because of how incredibly competitive the programs are here, I will be applying to NYU's graduate program and perhaps st. johns. My undergraduate GPA was a 3.2 , but my post-bacc GPA in CD is currently a 4.0. I will be completing 8/12 required core classes this fall and finish up the program in spring. I have clinical experience working with pediatric age groups, and also with adults in the rehabilitation setting. I am currently interning at a non-profit that mainly works with autistic/PDD-NOS children. I have yet to take the GRES (i'm doing that this nov) I am planning on applying to CSULA, CSUF, SFSU, SJSU, SDSU, CSUEB, CSULB (?)-not sure if I will...I hear most these programs are really impacted and its really difficult to get in. Do most these schools look at your undergrad GPA?? I'm worried it's too low to even be considered even if my major coursework gpa is great. Does anyone recommend any other CA graduate programs?
