I hope so too! This is my second time applying. Around this time last year I received an email from SSHRC saying that they had received my application. A friend who also goes to York received a letter from FGS about two or three weeks later saying that she wasn't put forward. Neither of us heard anything directly from our departments. I'm assuming it will be similar this year. But, you're right, York is very slow with these things. Maybe there is still hope?
